MBF with 39 Royal Engineers Regiment...

The Mountain Bike Foundation course is a five-day introduction to mountain biking. Over the five days participants will learn and develop skills such as descending steep ground, good body posture and bike maintenance. Based in the Scottish Highlands in Winter we were biking in snow for a large part of the week! Navigation and leadership also featured in the training with the aim been to have everyone at the level of a useful group member. Throughout the five days the guys progressed to a level where they could go on to gain further qualifications as mountain bike leaders. The week was certainly a case of 'train hard, fight easy', with the difficulty of the snow and the novelty of studded tyres having been a useful training tool.
