Granton to Spey Bay with ATC Scotland...

Following on from a successful week in kayaks, the boys from 2 RGR were keen to get into canoes. With more requirement to work together, and with the ability to carry much more kit, what better venue than a three-day expedition on the Spey? The River Spey is Scotland's second longest river and flows through the heart of the distillery industry in the Highlands, as well as playing an important part in salmon fishing. With plenty of rapids, forest-lined banks and interesting wildlife such as ospreys, it was a trip to remember...
Start of a new day...
Rapid descent...
Taking on the washing machine...
High and dry...
Camp one...
Mushroom omelette, Speyside style...
Catching rays...
Journey's end...
