Team Karnali with ATC Scotland...

The Gurkhas in general and the direct predecessors of the Royal Gurkha Rifles in particular are considered by some to be among the finest infantrymen in the world, as is evidenced by the high regard they are held in for both their fighting skill, and their smartness of turnout on parade. My job was to help transfer these qualities into kayaking and river-running skills! These tough men with big grins and even bigger hearts have the motto 'Better to die than live a coward', and certainly expressed lots of courage in the alien environment of Highland lochs, rivers and coastal waters. The KF2 is the military kayaking foundation course, and over five days we had fun, sun and a healthy amount of challenges...
Where the mountains meet the sea...
Synchronised ferry gliding...
Dry-drills for river-running...
Taking to the waves...
Rapid descent...
Hitting the wave...
Picking the line...
Finish with a roll...
