Going for Gold with A to Z Expeditions, Part One...

The last week in March was dedicated to helping some groups from the Midlands prepare themselves for their Gold DofE Expedition. The Qualifying Expedition will see them heading to the Central Highlands of Scotland to travel through some remote but stunning scenery. They will plan to scale some of Scotland's highest mountains, after first paddling in along one of it's longest lochs. Throughout the process they will have travelled on foot through the Black Mountains of Wales; canoed along the River Wye; canoe-sailed on one of England's biggest reservoirs; canoe-sail one of the longest lochs in the Highlands and summit a couple of the highest Munroes. They call it 'Gold' for a reason...
