Winter mountaineering in Scotland...

CMD Arete, Lochaber...

February in the Highlands came in like a lion and out like a lamb. Spending most of the month in such a stunning location was definitely a contrast in conditions, all of which had their own challenges. Gale force winds on Creag Megaidh, deep snow on Lochangar and Alpine-like conditions on Ben Nevis all made up for a great month. Partof it was personal mountaineering, but two weeks were spent training with the REMEC 8000 team as part of the ongoing preparation for the Himalayan expedition in the Autumn of 2013.
