Autumn Gold, with A to Z Expeditions

Pen y Fan from Four Ways...

After a long and eventful season in the Highlands with Bigfoot Adventures, it was a pleasant contrast to be back down in the Brecon Beacons, working with some groups of DofE Gold candidates.

The teams had done their Practice Expedition earlier on in the year in the Black Mountains, just a few miles to the East. The Welsh mountain weather system had thrown it's very worse at them then, so the old mantra of 'Train Hard, Fight Easy' was in use. Welcome sunshine greeted the teams on their first day, but it wouldn't last for long...

Despite long days, hard terrain and often zero-vizibility, the guys limped in on day four to tea, cake and the sweet smell of success...

Well done guys!
