Brecon Beacons, with A to Z Expeditions, July 2012

Looking North at Craig Fan Ddu, Corn Du and Pen y Fan

Going for Gold...

The middle of July saw me back in the Brecon Beacons, working with some groups completing their Gold Qualifying Expedition. After arriving in the YHA on the Friday evening, the groups prepared for the next four days - and three nights - journeying through the Brecon Beacons. Their journey saw them travel more than 80 km and over South Wales' highest peaks. The weather was varied, as was the terrain, but to the teams' credit, the mood was always positive! Well done folks, fantastic effort and a pleasure to be there with you!

Day One, and Team Alpha are descending in sunshine...
Staying dry was a challenge for Team Charlie on day two...
Lunch on Fan Fawr, day three...
Into the fog - a wet and windy finish, day four...
